Black skin

BLACK SKIN

Black skin contains more melanin than lighter skin. Melanin-producing  cells may be more susceptible to the effects of inflammation and injury, which may be more noticeable in dark skin than in light skin.

Some conditions that people with black skin may experience include:

  • Acne, which includes pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads
  • Changes in pigmentation, which causes areas of discoloration
  • Contact dermatitis, or inflammation that occurs from contact with an irritant or allergen
  • Eczema, a skin condition that causes itchy, dry, and cracked skin
  • Seborrheic dermatitis, which appears as scaly patches on the scalp and face

Remedies

  1. Aloevera

Aloe vera gel contains naturally occurring ingredients that not only relieve irritation but also help to compensate for skin damage.

But scholars still differ on the effect of aloe vera gel to compensate for skin cell damage due to sunburn.

  1. Tea

The remedy that has been ignored the most to overcome the problem of sunburn is ‘tea’.

  • Apply a cold tea bag or fresh boiled tea.
  • The tannic acid present in black tea reduces the heat in scorching skin from strong sunlight.
  • It balances the pH level of the skin and helps in healing it.

  1. Yoghurt

  • Apply curd on sun-scorched skin can be easily relieved.
  • This is due to the high pH level of yogurt.
  • That is why it helps in curing heat and irritation easily.

  1. Nuts and seeds

Vitamin E presents in nuts (almonds, cashews, raisins, walnuts, etc.) and seeds (flax seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.) maintains the natural moisture of the skin, keeping the skin soft and hydrated. To get rid of dry skin, then definitely eat it.

  1. Apply sun screen

  • Apply sun screen every day
  • If your arms are exposed to the sun, be sure to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen 15 minutes beforehand.
  • Take special care in applying to your elbows. If your elbows are a natural stretch in this area of the arm, you will often need to reapply your sun screen.
  1. Avoid the sun

The immediate danger of too much sun is sunburn. With repeated sun damage, the skin begins to look dry, wrinkled, faded, and pimpled.

However, the most serious danger of the sun is that it is the leading cause if skin cancer, which is now the most common of all cancers. Doctors believe that most skin cancers can be avoided by preventing sunlight damage.

  • Apply at least one ounce of sunscreen at least 15 to 30 minutes before going out. Also use a lip balm or lipstick that contains a sunscreen that has at least 30 sun protection factors(SPF).
  • Be extra careful around water and sand. These surfaces reflect the sun’s harmful rays, which can increase your chances of sunburn.
  • Do not remain in the sun for so long between 10:00 am and 4:00pm when the sun’s rays are most intense.
