BLACK ELBOW

Accumulation of dead skin cells, friction, extensive exposure to sun, or a hormonal imbalance can become the cause of dark knees and elbows. These parts of our body don’t contain any oil glands ans it’s important to protect them from dryness through proper care and hygiene. It occur when youe elbows accumulated darker skin than the rest of your arm. This can be caused by:

  • An accumulation of dead skin cells
  • Hyper pigmentation increased by sun exposure
  • Birth control pills
  • Melasma (dark spots) from a recent pregnancy
  • Freckles and age spots
  • Certain skin conditions, such as psoriasis and eczema
  • Inflammation from a previous injury

REMEDIES

  1. Curd

Yogurt contains lactic acid which lightens the skin tone. Along with this, skin moisture remains.

Steps:

  • Add a few drops of white vinegar to the curd and apply it on the affected area.
  • Let it dry and later clean it with lukewarm water.
  • Apart from this, by adding a little bran to the curd, scrubbing at the elbow and knee also removes blackness.
  1. Almond

Almond is really beneficial in lightening your skin color. We  just need some almond oil for this remedy.

  • Before sleeping, apply almond oil lightly on the places where the skin is black.
  • Also, we can apply the almond paste on the affected area.
  • Mixing a small amount of curd in almond powder and applying it is also beneficial
  1. Vaseline

Vaseline has strong power to lighten skin tone and make it soft.

  • Wash the knees with water and after drying, apply Vaseline on them when they become soft and moist.
  • Repeat the process of applying Vaseline every night just before bedtime.
  1. Onion and Garlic

We all knows the health benefits that onion and garlic provide us. They can be used to reduce the blackness of elbows and knees. This remedy includes many ingredients that together will help rejuvenate and cleanse the skin.

  • Take an onion and a clove of garlic and chop them
  • Apply them on knees and elbows for 15 minutes.
  • Wash it with water and then apply a mixed solution of glycerin, lemon juice and rosewood.
  • Repeat the process often.

  • If your arms are exposed to the sun, be sure to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen 15 minutes beforehand.
  • Take special care in applying on your elbows. Since bending your elbows is a natural stretch in this area of the arm, you will often need to reapply your sunscreen.
